Financial Education for High School Students…YES please!!
financial education for High School Students
In other blogs I have written, I have talked about how I don’t want my kids making the same mistakes about money that I did, mistakes I made because I just didn’t know any better. I want them to understand how to use credit cards without abusing them. I want them to know that it can be a very powerful thing to know how to control their money, make smart purchases and not be fooled.
The average student who graduates from high school probably lacks basic skills in personal money management. Many can not balance a checkbook, and have no understanding of basic concepts involved with earning, spending, saving, and investing. This got us thinking at Community Teamwork Inc.~ It got us thinking that providing some sort of money management program for high school students would be an awesome endeavor. And so the program was created. Ari Veloz came up with the amazing idea of offering a 2-day workshop series that would include the basics to money management, debt management and consumer economics. Thanks to some local financial institutions and a college professor, we will be offering this FREE…did you see that…FREE workshop series for the high school kiddos on July 18th and 21st from 9:00 am- 12:00 PM. We will provide a lovely breakfast and some fun give-a-ways too.
If you would like to register your high school child for this program, please give us a call: 978-654-5673.
